Interesting distinction. Limbaugh was the radio backpedalling that the Repukes that lost office deserved to and that they were not "representive" of how he feels. He's tired of coming into work everyday and defending these people when he felt that they couldn't even defend themselves for their actions. Yet he did it. How valiant of him. He kept referring to himself as a "conservative.

I have a couple of Repub acquaintences who are trying this argument on for size today too

"I'm happy about the election. Ya see, I'm not a Republican, I'm a conservative, and all those people who got shown the door yesterday, they weren't real conservatives like me. No. They were the (sneer) Republicans"

This as they try to soak the Bush Cheney bumper sticker off their SUV
