Too much adventure

Mona caught kennel cough at doggie daycare.

and edie is being treated too.

so sad. she sounds like the coughing dog on Seinfeld.

They were both vaccinated so it isn't serious but yuck.

Friday night, Edie developed the cough so we gave her the cough tablet at dinner like the vet directed.

We finished eating and I noticed she was rubbing her face against the wall. Went to look, her skin in her ears, on her belly, her paws, vagina, and butthole are cherry red and her eyes, lips and neck are swelling.

She looked like a SharPei, her eyes were swollen shut.

We called the emergency vet, gave her a benadryl, jumped in the car, drove to the vet on call at a different animal clinic. A steroid shot and $128 later she slept comfortably and the swelling went down.
